Close Enough For Noir: Detective Fightmaster at his Finest

-Grrrrowl

Seen here is Autumn Reeser who will be playing Ash Brooks in Raptor/Quantum's new show The Massacre. Catch it this fall on Rogue Net but to hold off you crazy dogs I made it my personal mission to interview this lovely lady about the upcoming show. So as I applied my fake mustache and black suit I came up with an idea to get me into Club Siberia free of charge...which failed. 100 bucks after the fact I was able to meet Autumn Reeser at a small bar. With the music thumping and the dancers out I slowly edged over to her before making contact.

blue(othello): Brrrrrrraaaalll(in my mind: Hey, how you doing?)

Autumn: What?
I screwed up! Time to quickly regain composure.

blue: I said Heeeellllllllll this place is cold! I love it though.

Autumn: Oh, me too. So who are you anyway?

blue: Me? I'm Maxwell FightMaster of course(my codename for every situation involving women of course.). Now a little birdy told me that you have an upcoming show.

Autumn: Oh the Massacre? Yeah I'm in that. I play a woman named Ashe.

blue: You in a horror TV Show!? That combines two things I love!

I start bumping my head up and down to the music, the only way I can blend in with the crowd of course!

Autumn: No it's a Conspiracy Thriller. Like Rubicon, I'm a main character.

blue: Rubicon? I love that show! So how often am I gonna be seeing you?

Autumn: Well I[m kinda minor at first so in the pilot don't expect to see me but I come to prominence in the later episodes.

blue: Awesome! Say how about I buy you a drin-

At this point a large hand arrived on my back. Mr. T, damn he found me. Two minutes later I found myself on the ground outside of Siberia. The fool! He wasn't counting on the Wire tapped to my chest. I had all the news I needed but alas I was banned once again. Oh well, T can never stop me. This Action Journalist blueothello punching out!

I'm An Astronaut: "HTG, and the Journalism Uprising"

After a spending a few weeks back in HTG, I really saw how things have changed around here. At one time, people complained about how many movies were being released weekly. At most, there would be only a couple movies out during the weekend. Sometimes they're weren't even any news releases at all, sometimes for a couple weeks in a row. Quickly, I realized how fast that had changed in the time I was gone. Now, it's hard for there not to be several films being released. Last weekend, two new films had opened up. This weekend, three. Weekend after? Four. This is short compared to what's coming in the months after. In December, there are over ten movies being released. Over ten films! Back when I originally played, there were hardly four or five films a month. This has doubled.

Now, the handful of thanks can be given to a group of producers. Mac and Pedro are ahead of the list, popping out films as if they were babies. Some argue its a good thing, some say its bad. But to be honest, they aren't even the ones that are putting out all those films. In the last few months, other thanks can go out to Lucian, Quantum, Romeoitaliano, Exavior, Safron, etc... All people who put in hard work to put out a film for people to watch and enjoy, deserve a round of a applause. Especially for those who weren't mentioned.

But! In my return, I have noticed that advertising had gone down quite a bit. Reviews are doing about as usual as it was when I left. Journalism had also declined quite a bit. Putting out ads for my upcoming film, I realized that no one was putting out any for theirs. Occasionally there's ones for future films, tv shows, etc... but advertising isn't quite what it use to be. I mentioned it and bam, all of sudden were right here. Me writing this post. And well, your reading it when I post it. Why the hell did we create this newspaper, when there are so many others? Well... its simple. No one else has been doing too much journalism anyways. Lucian has been doing some, but one man can't do it alone. Articles in the Times have died off. I use to try and do freelancing journalism all the time when I went here... so what the hell? Why not try and do something with it.

Another reasoning behind the whole deal, was the disappointment in advertisements. So this whole post will hopefully encourage people to start posting more advertisements for their films. Put up a little more competition. A little more liveliness into the board. And get creative as well. So in an effort to put out some advertisement possibilities, here's a little something for "Halloween".

Walking around on the set of the in-production Halloween, I caught up with Anthony Hopkins. Who I've had the pleasure of chatting with quite a few times with. Immediately we greeted each other, and got down to the nitty gritty. "At first, I didn't know whether I wanted to really do Halloween. I was offered without the script being completed, and I almost turned it down. I didn't know what the hell it'd be. For all I knew, it could have been some hack-n-slash film with no real plot. A ruining of John Carpenter's vision. When I told this to you, and the studio-head, the script was handed over. I read the first 20 pages, and I realized "he's really got this down". He cares about the characters. Loomis' journey is long, treacherous and bloody."

My spirits boosted, I decided to move around to other actors/actresses that haven't been announced as the films cast yet. First approach, was Jimmy Smitts who was chatting with Bradley Cooper. Both dressed in police uniforms.  I asked why they had joined the movie. "It's fucking Michael Myers man! Why wouldn't I?" turning to Cooper, "I don't think that I can add too much more to what Jim here said." said Bradley, chuckling.

Turning around, I caught up with the beautiful Autumn Reeser. She had been casted as the medical assistant, Marion Chambers, who has a bigger role then in the original film. "Well, it's Halloween. It's an iconic franchise. I got my break from Entourage, and I was going to get to work with Anthony. So I knew I had to sign on. It was destiny."

Walking off the set of Halloween, this is me signing out. This right here is just the one of the ways you can advertise your film to the public. Cast interviews, behind-the-scenes, etc... It's not all limited to just one or two posters. Look out for more interviews and other things from WordPunch! Were looking for more things like up here, so if you want to advertise here - just give Toran or Blueothello a PM on the board. Or maybe a chat in the chatroom?  Until next time, this is Toran punchin' out.

My City Bleeds...

My city bleeds over an old rotten corpse. Tears run down My City's face as the maggots chew gently on the face of what we once new as Old School Journalism. My city cries out to the world "Who has forsaken us!?". A dark silhouette stands in the steady rain. Gripping onto what little is left in this cold, dark Journalist world. It slowly rejoices, "The King is dead, long live the King."

WordPunch! is a joint effort to get Old School Journalism back in that sweet lil' saddle. Run by Toran and blueothello who each run 2 different columns. I, blueothello run Close Enough For Noir and Toran has yet to title his Column. Expect Interviews with not only producers but also cast members and directors(maybe even the Key Grip). We hope to not only shine a spotlight on our producers and cast members but also get Exclusive Trailers and Behind The Scenes Looks.
